Ultrasonic Distance Sensor (HC-SR04)
An ultrasonic sensor is a distance measuring device that works by sending out sound waves at ultrasonic frequencies (usually around 40 kHz), and then measuring the time it takes for the echo to bounce back from an object. Accurately measure distances with this compact and reliable ultrasonic sensor. Ideal for obstacle detection and range measurement projects.
- Operating Voltage: 5V DC
- Detection Range: 2cm to 450cm
- Precision: Up to 0.3cm
- Sensor Angle: ≤ 15°
- Operating Frequency: 40kHz
- Low Power Consumption: < 2mA static current
- Interface: VCC, Trig, Echo, GND
Perfect for robotics, automation, and distance sensing applications.
How It Works:
-
The transmitter sends out a sound wave.
-
The wave hits an object and reflects back.
-
The receiver picks up the echo.
-
The sensor calculates distance using:
Distance=Time×Speed of Sound2\text{Distance} = \frac{\text{Time} \times \text{Speed of Sound}}{2}Distance=2Time×Speed of Sound
Common Sensor: HC-SR04
